AVIAN is searching for an Operational Test & Evaluation Instructor and Courseware Developer to support Operational Test & Evaluation Force (OPTEVFOR), in Norfolk, VA. 

Responsibilities

  • In-person instruction of OPTEVFOR approved curriculum that includes Mission-Based Test Design, Test Planning, Test Execution, Post-Test Reporting, and other topics in a classroom environment.
  • Use of IT systems that support student instruction and learning.
  • Course curriculum updates as required to keep material current with customer policies and procedures.  Updates require knowledge in Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Teams, Intellink, and SharePoint.
  • Schedule coordination (Guest Subject Matter Experts, Instructor Schedule, Room reservations).
  • Assist in development of Monthly Status reports.
  • Travel required.  5 travel periods per year.  Each travel period is 7 days (5 days of instruction) and are scheduled as required to support the customer.

Qualifications

  • Experience with the Operational Test (OT) processes employed at OPTEVFOR, including Test Design, Planning, Execution, Analysis, and Reporting.
  • Credibility arising from actual performance of the above processes in recent OT events.
  • Practical knowledge of OPTEVFOR command operations as an Operational Test Agency (OTA).
  • Skills as an instructor, including strong abilities to communicate and coordinate learning, confidence in public speaking, a desire to develop professional operational testers, and eagerness to collaborate with content managers from OPTEVFOR’s competencies and warfare divisions.
  • Knowledge of Instructional Systems Design (ISD) and modalities for learning, including instructor-led training (ILT), virtual ILT, eLearning, video content, and experiential learning through exercises and laboratory work.  
  • Proficiency in researching course content, determining required knowledge, skills, and abilities, and structuring and testing courseware.
  • Ability to function as part of a government-contractor team in support of OPTEVFOR training objectives and the command’s mission.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.
  • Due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Salary range: $125,000 - $135,000 (The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.)
